Things to include:  

The Q1, coursework requires completing a comprehensive Financial report including quantitative analysis and qualitative evaluation on recommending a company to be acquired by a holding company.

Q2: Understand and explain project investment appraisal techniques and to inform acceptance decision. Ensure you use the correct format to present the techniques the following techniques: Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Period, discounted Payback Period and Internal Rate of return (IRR).  Using the outcome of results undertake analysis in order to make an investment business decision.

Q3: Able to undertake completing Sales and Cash Budgets and importantly qualitative analysis on the function budgeting plays operationally and strategically within an organisation. In addition, understand and analyse how Marginal Costing is used in management decision making  and its limitations when used

Learning Outcomes:

Completion of this assessment will address the following learning outcomes: 

Evaluate the different competing financial objectives of the firm and the agency problem between shareholders and managers in publicly listed companies.

Demonstrate the ability to analyse financial data, conduct cost-benefit analysis and financial planning for effective business decisions using spreadsheet software package.

Critically evaluate investment projects using appropriate investment appraisal techniques to assess suitability and viability of the projects consistent with the overall strategy and business model(s) of the firm.

Critically appraise the major issues of capital management, relative advantages and disadvantages from the various perspectives of the stakeholders of the firm.
