How Smart Tourism and Artificial Intelligence Are Transforming Travel Experiences in Singapore, Amsterdam, and Seoul
This assignment requires you to write a 4,000-word case study report on Tourism Contemporary Issues (TCI). Your analysis should be supported by relevant theories, concepts, and current industry practices. Specifically, this assignment requires students to critically analyse the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics in the development of Smart Tourism. Students will explore how AI technologies and robotics, including robots, chatbots, predictive analytics, facial recognition, and machine learning, are reshaping tourist experiences, destination management, and business models in the tourism industry. The report must focus on detailed case studies relevant to three leading destinations, Singapore, Amsterdam, and Seoul, that have successfully integrated AI technologies and robotics to enhance their tourism sectors. Students are required to critically assess the influence of AI and robotics on both the demand for tourism experiences and the supply of services within destinations.
The report must be submitted in Microsoft WORD format. You must include appropriate in- text citations and references according to the CCCU Harvard Referencing Style.

You are required to write a 4,000-word report (+10%) critically analysing the integration and impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics within the context of Smart Tourism. Your analysis must focus on three leading smart tourism destinations: Singapore,

Specifically, the report should:

  1. Evaluate the range of challenges the tourism industry and the tourists in each city are facing when AI and robotics, such as service robots, chatbots, predictive analytics, facial recognition, and machine learning, are adopted to enhance tourist experiences and business operations.
  2. Compare and contrast the approaches taken by Singapore, Amsterdam, and Seoul in implementing smart tourism technologies, highlighting best practices.
  3. Analyse the impacts on both the demand and supply sides of tourism, including tourist behaviour, satisfaction, and decision-making, as well as service delivery and infrastructure.
  4. Critically evaluate the ethical, technological, and policy challenges related to the implementation of AI and robotics in the tourism industry, highlighting potential risks, limitations, and regulatory considerations, and their potential impacts on host communities.
  5. Critically assess the economic, social, and environmental impacts of Al-driven innovations and robotics in each destination, and recommend sustainable strategies to support responsible and balanced future development.

  5. Make sure you proofread and edit your work prior to final submission to avoid grammar, spelling, punctuation, and in-text citation mistakes as well as to ensure that you have covered everything.
  6. You must use a minimum of 20 sources, including textbooks, journals and other academic/credible published and web sources.
  7. Do not use Wikipedia, unverifiable blogs or any software to generate your work.
  8. Make sure you adhere to the required word count of the case study report (4,000) +/- 10%, as 10 marks will be deducted from your total grade, if you exceed the required word count (i.e., if you exceed 4400 words) and your grade will be capped at 40%, if you write below the required wordcount (i.e., if you write below 3600 words) and the marker cannot identify if the learning outcomes have been met.
  9. This Assignment will be anonymously marked. For this reason, no Front Sheet is to be submitted, nor is the student's name or student ID to appear anywhere in your assignment submission, as it will be anonymously marked.
