Students will research and write an academic essay linking mental health illnesses and issues, drug and alcohol use/issues (AOD), PTSD and other life events and the
impact of diagnosis on individuals. The essay will then outline how social work practitioners and other professionals respond to specific illnesses/issues and the
differences between in-patient care and community care.

NOTE: Students who submit an assessment task after the due date (original or extended) will incur an academic penalty of 5% for each day late up to a maximum of
7days.
Submissions received from day 8 onwards (without an approved extension) will not be marked and the result of zero will be applied to the assessment item.
