Your major project for the quarter is to work on a Change Project in which you identify a barrier, issue or systematic improvement in your organization and create a plan that would bring about a change to this problem.
Please do not chose an issue that has been widely covered, like “Falls reduction”, bedside reporting and staffing, unless this has not been addressed where you work, etc.
The entire project should be 1,400 to 1,800 words (7 pages, not including the title page or reference page). You must also include at least 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (dated within 5-7 years) along with other relevant resources.
You will also need to upload/attach/add your peer-reviewed articles when you submit your Change Project paper.
I will have a few due dates, this term, for you to submit portions of your paper. Feedback from past students included, writing a small amount each week was helpful, to stay on track for submitting the final project. You should check in with your classmates each week and let them know how you are doing and what insights you’ve gained that week.
Make sure you create the paper using APA format. I have provided an example of an APA paper under Course Resources.
Based on the components listed in the weekly “Work on Your Change Project” assignments, you will need to include the following headers in your APA paper:
1. The need for a proposed change in the organization
2. The goal of the change
3. Vision and philosophy for the change
4. Theoretical model that relates to the proposed change
5. Organizational and individual barriers to the proposed change
6. Factors that might influence the proposed change
7. Factors influencing organizational readiness for the proposed change
8. Internal and external resources available to support the change initiative
